A’ Design Award 2025–2026 Silver Winner
We are proud to announce that Koshulynskyy & Mayer has been recognised with a Silver A’ Design Award in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design Category for the cultural project VIK Cars Museum.
The A’ Design Award & Competition is an international design award that recognises outstanding projects across architecture, interior design, product design and creative disciplines worldwide.
Receiving a Silver A’ Design Award represents international recognition of the studio’s ability to create a complex exhibition space where architecture, lighting, engineering and scenography work together as one coherent system.
About the awarded project
The awarded project VIK Cars Museum is a private museum located in Lviv, Ukraine, created for a collection of rare and fully functional automobiles.
The project was designed not as a traditional exhibition hall, but as a scenographic architectural environment. Each automobile is presented as an independent object, while the space around it enhances its form, history and visual presence.
The interior is structured through deep contrasts, reflective surfaces and carefully controlled lighting. Instead of a neutral museum background, the architecture creates a dramatic atmosphere where visitors experience the cars through movement, perspective and light.
One of the key elements of the project is the rotating platform, which brings a dynamic quality to the exhibition and transforms the perception of the vehicles from static display objects into living compositions.
From a technical perspective, the project required reinforced structural solutions and a dedicated lift system for transporting cars to the upper level. The museum occupies 1,500 square meters and was completed within a two-month timeframe, requiring precise coordination between architectural, engineering and construction processes.
VIK Cars Museum reflects the studio’s approach to interior architecture as a system that shapes how space is perceived, experienced and remembered.
