ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project has marked the beginning of a long-lasting friendship between KOSHULYNSKYY & MAYER and the owners of this apartment, the parents of a young couple for whom we designed the Platinum Powder residence. As designers, we treasure our clients’ trust in us, their genuine joy in their newly created homes, and their enthusiasm for future collaborations. This is the inspiration behind our symbolic naming of this project: AVALON Family.

The young owners had particular desires for their home: they expressed their intention to start a family soon, influencing many design decisions. Because the couple frequently travels for business and occasionally works from home, it was essential to create a space that seamlessly accommodates both relaxation and productivity. Their hospitality is also a priority, as they often host friends and family, so our design approach focused on practicality and versatility.

AVALON Family

In the heart of the home, the living area, dining space and kitchen are thoughtfully integrated into a single open-concept space. The TV viewing area features a cosy bio fireplace, perfect for relaxing alone in the evenings or enjoying quality time with friends. The practical and functional kitchen caters to the wife’s culinary needs with a compact island that serves multiple purposes: a place for casual breakfasts, an evening wine spot and a space to work on laptops. To ensure durability, we opted for stone countertops that withstand daily use; the choice of quartz-vinyl flooring was deliberate, aimed at protecting against scratches, especially because of the couple’s small dog.

The combined space is thoughtfully delineated by distinct accents in white, grey and black. Above the sofas, the ceiling features sculpted plasterboard “beams” that elegantly frame rail lights, enhancing the area’s ambience. A standout element of this open space is the stone veneer facades, which result from extensive experimentation to achieve the perfect shade that unites the interior design. This versatile veneer is also skillfully integrated into the panelling of the interior doors.

The interplay of main colour accents with subtle pastel tones continues into the bedroom, where marble-patterned tiles harmoniously complement the overall colour scheme. Light hues gracefully filter through the space, adding depth and warmth. Additionally, the bedroom boasts a spacious wardrobe, providing ample storage while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.

Given that the couple has a small dog and is planning to welcome a child, the apartment has been designed with the most durable coverings. The owners envisioned a black-themed bathroom, wanting to incorporate vibrant living decor such as moss and greenery. We fully agreed that this concept could be beautifully executed in a dark space accented by luxurious stone textures and atmospheric lighting.

The apartment includes a dedicated laundry room equipped with a washing machine, a dryer and all necessary amenities. This allows the other rooms to maintain a neat and organized appearance, which is essential for a family anticipating the arrival of a child. More information about the service here

In many ways, this apartment embodies the ideal space for a young family looking to grow comfortably. While it follows a common layout suitable for modern living, it is distinctly customized to reflect the unique tastes and preferences of its owners. The design meticulously caters to all their needs, blending style with functionality and incorporating charming details that reflect the homeowners’ unique personalities.
