ABOUT THE PROJECT

KM HOME is nothing less than KOSHULYNSKYY & MAYER HOME — the personal residence of our studio’s founders.

Completed in just 6.5 months, this apartment reflects the vision of Karina and Danylo — a balance of practicality and comfort within a minimalist framework. It seamlessly blends ergonomic design with tactile aesthetics, embodying something deeply essential — a sense of soul. The space is thoughtfully crafted for a couple who value both their careers and the warmth of home, expressing the best qualities of contemporary living.

Interior Design as a Philosophy of Space

KM HOME is more than just a residence — it is the embodiment of a personal design philosophy where intellectual interior design, spatial depth, and everyday functionality coexist in perfect harmony.

At the heart of the apartment lies an open-plan space uniting the kitchen and living area — a layout crafted for life: flexible, intuitive, and meticulously structured. Yet its uniqueness lies in the conceptual weight of every detail. The white Calacatta marble countertop, resting on raw stone blocks, becomes a symbolic foundation — both literal and philosophical. This kitchen is not only technically refined but also the conceptual core of the home.

Karina Mayer, interior designer and owner of the apartment, together with her husband, architect Danylo Koshulynskyy, embedded a fundamental idea into the project: “Everything can be the way you want it — all it takes is desire and will.” This belief materialized in a design that is free, thoughtful, and unapologetically personal.

Minimalism Without Compromise

The spatial philosophy is built on principles of clarity, intuition, and functionality. All kitchen elements, appliances, and tools are hidden behind eucalyptus veneer fronts, maintaining a calm and uncluttered aesthetic. There are no random objects in sight — only what truly matters.

A central island merges with a dining table for four, which easily expands to host eight — a versatile solution suited for daily life and entertaining alike. It’s a responsive design that aligns with modern rhythms without limiting freedom.

Materials That Speak Emotion

Natural materials play a defining role in shaping the atmosphere. Marble, wood, and ceramics are not mere finishes, but living components of the space. Every marble vein, every grain of wood carries a distinct character. This is an interior that transforms with the light, with mood, with the seasons.

Special attention is paid to the windows — perceived as artistic elements in their own right. Large and geometrically clean, they frame the outside view like evolving landscapes. One of the windows is highlighted with accent lighting to draw the eye to a painting by Les Panchyshyn, offering yet another level of aesthetic depth.

Comfort Encoded in the Details

The flooring is finished in ABK Ceramics porcelain stoneware, chosen for both its functionality and visual appeal. Thanks to underfloor heating, the apartment is free of radiators, preserving clean walls and flexible spatial arrangement.

Smart household logistics are another key feature. Built-in storage, integrated lighting, and the absence of superfluous decor ensure effortless maintenance. Even the robotic vacuum operates in sync with the architecture, creating a space where domestic care is minimized.

Master Suite: Function, Style, Serenity

The private area is designed as a master suite — complete with walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom with stone vanities, a care station, and layered materials like toned American walnut veneer, green leather, and boucle textiles. Every element is selected with deep sensitivity to texture and tactility.

The Rosso Imperiale stone sink in the master bathroom is more than a utility — it’s a sculptural statement. A similar approach is seen in the guest bathroom, where a Patagonia marble sink is paired with vertical wall sconces that create a serene, spa-like ambiance.

Internationally Acclaimed Interior Design

KM HOME is not just a refined interior — it is the proud winner of the Gold Award at the France Design Awards 2025. It has also been featured in international media outlets such as Design Milk  , Amazing Architecture.

This recognition affirms that Ukrainian interior design can shape global standards — simultaneously deep, elegant, and highly functional.
