Interior Design Studio in Lviv — Architecture, Interiors, and Private Residences
Koshulynskyy & Mayer is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio based in Lviv, Ukraine. Founded by architect Danylo Koshulynskyy and interior designer Karina Mayer, the studio creates private residences, apartments, villas, cultural environments, and selected commercial spaces in Ukraine and internationally.
We approach interior design as a complete system rather than a collection of visual decisions. Architecture, spatial planning, materials, lighting, technical documentation, and project implementation are developed together to create environments that work precisely in everyday life.
Our work is guided by a clear principle: design must deliver a result that extends beyond the image. Every decision is evaluated through functionality, construction feasibility, budget discipline, and long-term architectural value.
Interior Design for Private Houses and Villas
A private residence requires more than an attractive interior. It demands a thorough understanding of the architecture, the surrounding landscape, and the routines of the people who will inhabit it.
Our studio develops interior design projects for private houses and villas, combining architectural logic with natural materials, considered lighting, custom furniture, and carefully structured layouts. Each project is shaped around its particular context, whether it is a contemporary family house in Lviv, a private residence near Kyiv, a restored historical villa, or a residential project associated with Monaco and the French Riviera.
The objective is to create a home that remains relevant over time: coherent in its architecture, comfortable in daily use, and capable of preserving its long-term value.
Apartment Interior Design
Our approach to apartment interior design begins with spatial clarity. We examine how rooms connect, how natural light enters the interior, where storage is required, and how the space can support both privacy and shared family life.
From compact city residences to expansive family apartments, every project is developed around its owners’ lifestyle. Materials are selected for their authenticity and durability, while lighting and furniture contribute to an interior that feels calm, practical, and personal.
KM HOME, the studio founders’ private residence in Lviv, reflects this philosophy. The project received a Gold distinction at the French Design Awards and was featured in international design publications.
Architecture-Led Commercial and Cultural Spaces
Koshulynskyy & Mayer also works with commercial interiors, cultural environments, and projects that require complex coordination between architecture, engineering, branding, and construction.
VIK Cars Museum in Lviv demonstrates this approach. The 1,500-square-meter automotive museum was conceived as an architectural exhibition environment where lighting, materiality, and spatial composition support the presentation of a private automobile collection.
Completed within a two-month construction period, the project received a Silver A’ Design Award and a Platinum distinction at the French Design Awards. Its recognition reflects the studio’s ability to manage technically demanding projects without separating creative ambition from execution.
From Architectural Concept to Project Implementation
Our interior design services include spatial analysis, planning solutions, architectural concepts, 3D visualization, technical drawings, lighting design, material and furniture selection, and author’s supervision during implementation.
By coordinating these stages within one structured process, we reduce inconsistencies between the initial concept and the completed space. This approach allows clients to make informed decisions, maintain control over project development, and preserve the quality of the design throughout construction.
Based in Lviv and working across Ukraine and Europe, Koshulynskyy & Mayer creates interiors for clients who value architectural precision, honest materials, and a carefully managed realization process.
We do not treat design as a decorative layer. We create a system in which architecture, interior design, and implementation work together to produce a lasting result.
